Applied Signal

Approach

AI-native means the prototype writes itself. We make sure it survives.

The studio operates on three principles: senior only, fixed capacity, production-ready by construction.

Consultancies

Pitch you the deck.

Slow. Strategic. Charge you 18 months later for a PDF.

Dev shops

Build to spec.

Tactical. No taste. The strategy is your problem.

Internal teams

Six months out.

Already overloaded. Backlog is the new normal.

applied signal sits in the middle.

Senior only

Every person on the engagement has shipped production software. No juniors hidden behind a partner’s bio.

Fixed capacity

We don't juggle too many projects all at once. We pick and choose who we work with and focus on you.

AI as leverage

AI compresses the timeline from idea to prototype by 70%. Our job is to make the output durable.

Production handoff

Code, tests, runbook, post-mortem. Your team owns it from day one of week seven.

Engagement model

Three ways in. Fixed scope, fixed price.

3 weeks

Validate

From $85K

Pressure-test an idea. Ends with a Go/No-Go memo and a working prototype concept.

6 weeks

Validate + Prototype

From $185K

Validation, then a working prototype in users’ hands. Includes user research and AI capability scoping.

8 weeks

recommended

Validate + Prototype + Launch

From $310K

End-to-end. Production-grade software, instrumented, documented, ready for handoff to your team.

Questions

The five we always get.

How is this different from a consultancy?

We ship code. A consultancy ships a deck. We’re done in eight weeks; they’re done in six months. We get cheaper as we go because AI compresses our work. They get more expensive.

How is this different from a dev shop?

We own the strategy. A dev shop builds what you spec. If your spec is wrong, they ship it anyway. We push back, change scope depending on what serves the user, and tell you when an idea isn’t worth shipping.

Who actually does the work?

The same people who pitch you. We’re a small senior studio. Every person on an engagement has shipped production software at companies you’ve heard of.

What does “AI-native” actually mean?

It means we use AI to compress the time between an idea and a working prototype by about 70%. It does not mean we ship AI features inside your product unless you want us to. It does not mean we use ChatGPT in front of you on calls. It means the timeline from idea to production-grade software is shorter than it used to be, and we made that our operating model.

What does production handoff look like?

The week eight deliverable is: the code in your repository, full test coverage on the critical paths, an architecture decision record, a runbook for your on-call team, a post-mortem on what we learned, and two weeks of embedded support after handoff. Your team owns the system from day one of week seven.
